Wine & Gastronomy
Welcome to Hora, a unique hospitality experience in the heart of the most fertile field of all the Mediterranean islands, where little has changed since the Ancient Greeks arrived almost 2400 years ago.
The Stari Grad Plain, also known as Hora or Ager is an impressively preserved testament to the Ancient Greek period that it was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2008. In the heart of Hora stands one of the few buildings on the plain, Agroturizam Pharos. With some 32000 m2, the working farm is an oasis of heritage and organic produce, a world away from the beaches and busy coastal towns.
In the middle of the UNESCO protected area you will taste award winning wines, olive oils and other Dalmatian delicacies.
A rich, four course menu includes: tasting 3 types of olive oil, cheese, prosciutto, salted and marinated fish, traditional peka meal (meat cooked for several hours with potatoes and spices that are covered in an iron pot set on coals) and a traditional Dalmatian desert. Each course is paired with different wine.
Apart from enjoying different varieties of Dalmatian delicacies your host will gladly show you around the restaurant; their old wine cellars, the animals, planted fruit and vegetables and other herbs.
Join us for an unforgettable experience and let us show you a different side of Hvar, taking you back to the time of the Ancient Greeks!
